Fabulous Just the Way You Are !

This weeks scripture verse at Stampin Sisters in Christ is Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run , and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. " Kristine has a very interesting tidbit on an eagle's response to a storm. Breeze on over to the SSCC blog to read it here .

The challenge this week is to " mount up " or paper tole a part of your image. I have cut out my flower twice and paper pieced and mounted the middle center of the flower and also one of the leaves. The dp is by g.e.d. called Green Bird... it's a brighter shade of green IRL . Love it ! The flower and sentiment is from Verve. The sentiment was cut out , matted and embossed with an oval Nestie. I have added black Stickles to the center of the blossom , ribbon is from JoAnn's and gemstones from Archivers.

Have a good evening ! I'll be back on Thursday with another post.

Hugs!

ODBDSLC6 ...The Will of God

How ARE you, friends ? Sure hope your Monday is off to a good start. I've been busy getting ready for Easter plus lots of Spring cleaning but made some time to play this challenge over at Our Daily Bread. Betty's Stamping in Time challenge for us this week is to make a monochromatic card. Now, can I just say that this challenge was a REAL challenge for me ? I'm such a DP junkie. I have made this large tag to go with a pot of flowers for a friend.

I have used three shades of purple Bazzill. The lavender was run through the CB with the Victorian folder and then punched with this Fiskars border punch. The verse was stamped with Versacolor " Boysenberry" and then both the embossed panel and the verse panel was sponged with Brilliance Platinum Planet. The verse panel was cut out with a Labels 4 Nestie. Butterflies were cut with a Martha Stewart punch and then purple gems were added as shown. Lastly, everything mounted up and some satin ribbon added and all done !

Gotta get back to work ! Thanks for stopping by !

Hugs !

This is my second post for today so be sure to scroll down for both posts. This card was made for this week's Our Daily Bread's : Think Spring and New Life challenge . It is also for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge which is to make a Clean and Simple card. The golden BRIGHT yellow paper is Bazzill and was run through a CB folder. I am using one of the floral images from the new From the Garden set at Flourishes which was colored with Copics and some Stickles added to the center of the blooms. The border punch is from Fiskars. DP is from October Afternoon. Gemstones from Hobby Lobby.

Have a wonderful evening !

Do You Need a Smile ?

... or maybe some bright color and pattern ? I definitely need color as it's gray and rainy here but wait! The grass is getting greener everyday ... woo hoo ! My card today is for WT 263 which is to CELEBRATE . I had a fun time with a friend shopping in another city yesterday for stamps and goodies and boy, did we find some good stuff ! This little snapper is from Inky Antics and was colored up with Copics and watercolor pencils. I have paper pieced his balloon . DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird. The image was cut out with a large pinking circle Nestie. Buttons are from Basic Grey.

Have a good day everyone ! And thanks for popping in ! Hugs !

Our Daily Bread Anniversary Challenge 4

A good morning to you !

I have been so delighted to continue playing in Our Daily Bread 's Anniversary Challenges this week. Today's card challenge is to use your all time favorite . I love all their stamps but I tell ya... I love those Scripture Collections ! I love having a verse " front and center" to send and encourage with just a few embellishments and some beautiful paper. So here's my card... using Lamentations 3: 21-23. The dp, by American Crafts , is much more beautiful IRL. I have used metal dots for the corners of the verse panel which was scored with my Scor Pal , grosgrain ribbon and a big button and really there wasn't much more to it than that.

I'm off to our monthly stamping day. Sure to be fun and GREEN with lots of St Patricks Day touches . Have a great day! See you back here hopefully tomorrow.

Hugs !

Flourishes Challenges and Our Daily Bread Day Three

Good Monday morning, fellow stampers ! Hope you had a great weekend ! Mine was busy but good .
Today I am posting two cards to complete three challenges I wanted to play. I love a good challenge and these have been so much fun . Flourishes has a new blog look and they are celebrating with daily challenges which end today so check them out if you are looking for a couple good ones. My first card is for Flourishes Day 5 which is to use pink and green . Now...someone kick me ! I LOVVVVE pink and green ... together ! In clothes, on paper, in home decor , in gardens ... well, you get the idea ! Lilly Pulitzer made famous this color combo years ago in her resort wear collection and it's still a hit today . Now my card isn't quite what I visualized but I did use Flourishes Sweet Pea set and the color combo. Don't you love that bright , Springy pop of color ?

My next card is for Flourishes Day 4 which is to use " sparkle" and for Our Daily Bread Anniversary Challenge Day 3 challenge which is to use silver or gold . We have my nephews wedding this weekend and the color and simplicity is for them . I have used the I Love Roses set from Flourishes and embossed the base in silver. Silver trim, a button and some gems round it off.

So what do you think ? I have a couple sketches I want to try today so we will see if I can squeeze some time in the stamp room .
Thanks for stopping by ... I so appreciate your comments and I love visiting your blogs ! Hugs !

Good Sunday morning, friends :

This will be quick as I'm off to worship and then to visit Dad for the day . Today's challenge at ODBD's second anniversary celebration is to be inspired by CHINA. Just a couple days before getting the challenges on the site, my DF gave me some halves of dp she had recently purchased and oh, boy, what beauties ! I love , love this one ! And perfect ! It's the color of my very own china pattern. I was thinking literally when I made this card ... edges of the dinner plate, silver touches for the " platinum"and a lace bow to resemble a luxurious tablecloth ! Deets below. Hope you get to play the challenges . Have a nice Sunday wherever you are . Thanks so much for all your sweet comments . You bloggers are just the BEST !

SSCC#29 Hallelujah !

This week's challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ is based on Isaiah 12:6 ; " Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you . " The challenge is to make a card or project that shows or expresses JOY or joyfulness. A good one, don't you think ?!

I had several ideas but this one captured my heart and wouldn't let go ! The funny stamp is an old one in my stash from Art Impressions and reminds me a little of my grandmother, maybe just a little more dignified and her hair less wild. She was the epitome of joy in the midst of hardship, always quick to laugh, positive and a living testimony to Jesus Christ. She lived her full 93 years with polio and today, this is how I see her.. still a little more dignified ( !) ... jubilant and polio-free in her heavenly home.

I have paper pieced her dress and added pearls to her neckline . The sentiment is computer generated .

Have a JOY-filled day, everyone !

Recipe:
Stamp: Art Impressions
Paper: Neenah, Basic Grey's Sugar Rush
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Vivid in Marigold
Accessories: Copics, Spellbinders Curvy Rectangle and Tag , pearls , computer generated sentiment, sponge

ODBDSCL5 He Who Dwells ...

Happy Monday, dear friends !

I have a double post for you today , so be sure you scroll down to see both cards.

This is my card for this week's Our Daily Bread sketch challenge which you can find here .
I've pulled our my Cool Caribbean cs from Stampin Up , run through the Swiss Dots CB folder and layered onto Neenah white . The verse is from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection ( love those sets !) and was stamped with Memento London Fog, cut out and embossed with a circle Nestie. Tip: if you know what your design most likely is, you can do two or three cuts with your CB at one time. I cut the scalloped white circle and the Scripture circle in one run through as well as the dp circle and scalloped circle . Does save time. The border punch is from Martha Stewart , ribbon is from JoAnn's. The thin red strip is Ruby Red from SU. The corners were cut with the large chrysanthmum punch ( Martha Stewart ) then quartered with scissors to fit the corners. The dragonfly is a button from JoAnn's. I simply snipped off the back and secured with a sticky dot. And there you have it ! What do you think ? I have to admit I love the colors and of course, love the verse.

Have a really nice day, everyone !

Friday Flourishes Focus & MTSC63

My second post for you today ...I'm a little late posting my card for Flourishes Friday Focus . The challenge was to make a Get Well card . I have used the new From the Garden set that you can find in the Flourishes store , stamped the pot and flowers with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. DP is Basic Grey , ribbon from JoAnn's and buttons are also Basic Grey. The sketch is from last week's sketch at Mercy's .

Thanks so much for stopping by today ! Hugs !

Lucky Paddy Bear

Woo hoo, happy Saturday, Friends ! The sun is shining here ... oh, so wonderful ! Hope you are getting some of that sunshine !

I had a blast doing this card. This image is a digi called " Loves Healing Hands" from Sassy Cheryl's... if you haven't seen Cheryl's work, you must treat yourself ... she has some really fun images.
Sassy Cheryl is having it's very first challenge this week which is All About Green . Rather than do an obvious St Patricks Day card which I probably would not send, I choose to do a children's card . This adorable cutie and her bear were colored with Copics , the bear was colored using the flicking/ feathering motion to resemble his fur. I've added some scoring on the mat with my Scor Pal and punched corners from a contrasting green dp. I'll leave the recipe below.

Hope your Saturday is terrific ! Hugs !!

My blog watermark reversed itself , weird ... will work to get it right side up .

Recipe:
Digi : Sassy Cheryl's
Paper: Basic Grey, Neenah solar white
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Scor Pal, Copics, ribbon, SU corner tab punch
